Home Builders offering free wheelchair ramp to deserving Sussex vet

The Home Builders Association of Delaware, a nonprofit organization, in conjunction with Sussex Tech High School in Georgetown, is offering the opportunity for a Sussex County military veteran in need to receive a free custom wheelchair ramp for their home.

To participate, or to recommend someone, send a recent exterior photo of the existing residential access, the full street address, as well as a brief description of why this individual should be selected, by Friday, Aug. 29. Participants must be Sussex County residents and the property must be their primary residence. The winner will be announced Sept. 12.

Sussex Tech High School students will receive hands on experience and professional training by participating in this community outreach effort to honor members of the U.S. military.
