Josephine M. Hearn, retired school bus driver

Josephine M. Hearn, 86, of Georgetown, passed away Monday, Aug. 4, 2014, at her home. She was born in Georgetown, April 12, 1928, daughter of the late Norval E. and Elva (James) Elliott.

Mrs. Hearn worked as a school bus driver for 25 years for the Indian River School District. She enjoyed being involved in different organizations including the Anona Council 11 of the Pocahontas for 44 years and Midland Grange for over 50 years. She was also a 31-year member of Old Paths Church of Christ. Most of all she enjoyed taking care of her family and preparing delicious meals for them.

Mrs. Hearn is survived by her son, Raymond E. Joseph and his wife Patricia of Seaford; two daughters: Linda Warrington and her husband Tim of Arab, Ala. and Deborah A. Hearn of Georgetown; a foster daughter, Vicky Fonke and her husband Dan of Greensboro, N.C.; a grandson, Anthony Joseph; three foster grandsons: Benjamin, Joseph and Jon Fonke all of Greensboro; two half sisters: Laura Conrad and Sharon White, both of Georgetown; and half brother, Norval Elliott Jr. of Seaford.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, Aug. 10, at 2 p.m., at Old Paths Church of Christ, 18295 Redden Road, Georgetown, where friends may call at 1 p.m. Interment will follow funeral services at the adjacent churchyard.

Friends may also call Saturday, Aug. 9, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Dodd-Carey Chapel, 307 N. Bedford St., Georgetown.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Hearn's memory to Old Paths Church of Christ at the above address or Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
