August 8, 2014

A Millsboro woman was pulled over at 3:15 p.m., Aug. 5 by the Rehoboth Beach Police Department for her third DUI offense after police say her vehicle hit several cars.

Erika Ludwig, 25, was seen by police swerving on the roadway and they say her vehicle struck vehicles in the area of Rehoboth Avenue and Second Street.

Officers tried to pull over Ludwig’s blue Dodge Neon near the Rehoboth post office, but she pulled away when the stoplight turned green. Ludwig was stopped near the Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company on Rehoboth Avenue and arrested without incident, police said.

Police said vehicles were struck by Ludwig’s car but no significant damage was found.

Ludwig was charged with DUI, no proof of insurance and no registration. She was released to a relative on $3,500 unsecured bond and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing in the Court of Common Pleas in Georgetown Thursday, Aug. 14.

Anyone with more information should call the Rehoboth Beach Police Department at 302-227-2577.
