Marie E. Littleton, Townsends retiree

Marie E. Littleton, 75, of Georgetown, passed away Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, at Nanticoke Hospital in Seaford.

Marie was born in Laurel, April 7, 1939, daughter of the late Edward and Bertha (Hickman) LeCates. She worked for Townsends in Millsboro, retiring in 2000. Marie had a green thumb and was well known for her flowers. She also enjoyed spending time outdoors and loved all types of animals. She will be forever remembered as a loving mother, mom mom and sister.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Littleton; two sons, William Callaway Jr. and Glen Callaway; a sister, Anna Whaley; and three brothers, Clifton LeCates, Roy LeCates and Ivan LeCates. She is survived by three daughters, Janice Shockley and her companion John Short Sr., Sue Huffman and her husband James and Jennifer Ryan and her husband John. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Dewey Callaway, Clayton Shockley Jr., Heather Tharp, Brandon Tharp, Glen Huffman, Chelsea Conaway, Angel Conaway, Tyler Callaway, Brittany Conaway and Kimberly Ryan; two great-grandchildren, Gavin Shockley and Michele Lynn Wisniewski; two brothers, Kenneth LeCates and his wife Wanda and Linwood LeCates; and two sisters, Doris Esposito and her husband Raymond, and Irene LeCates.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, August 11, at the Frankford Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 43 Thatcher St., Frankford, where friends and family may call after 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Roxana Cemetery.
