William M. Holding, loved the outdoors

William M. Holding, 52, of Georgetown, passed away Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, at Beebe Healthcare, Lewes.

William was employed with American Hardscapes for the past two years. He had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed boating, crabbing, lawn care and landscaping. He loved to work on things and enjoyed building and racing garden tractors at tractor pull contests and watching NASCAR.

William had a heart of gold for others, and was always willing to help anyone in need. His love of doing for others extended into his decision to be an organ donor. After his untimely death, his organs were donated so that others could live and to benefit medial research all of the country.

He was preceded in death by both parents; Frank T. Sr., and Elizabeth Holding; and a brother, Frank T. Holding Jr.

He is survived by his companion of 13 years, Melinda Hill; her two daughters whom he loved as his own, Tamara and Amber Hill; and a grandson: Lorenzo Flores; seven siblings: Linda L. Card, of Aurora, Colo., Catherine D. Baumann, of Georgetown, Larry E. Holding of Milton, Amy S. Magee of Georgetown, Jeffrey A. Holding of Ellendale, Timothy “Why” Holding and James E. “Nut” Holding, both of Milton; 18 nieces and nephews; a host of extended family and friends; and his beloved dogs, Sasha and Mia.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, Aug. 12, from 7 to 9 p.m., in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St. Milton. Memorial service will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the funeral home to help defray expenses.
