Thomas 'Thom' Lewis, Beach Marine owner

Thomas "Thom" Earl Lewis, 56, of Rehoboth Beach, passed away Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, at his home. He was born Oct. 30, 1957, in Salisbury, Md., son of Peggy H. (Hastings) Lewis of Pocomoke, MD and the late Earl E. Lewis.

Thom was a proud owner and operator of Beach Marine Inc. in Lewes. He enjoyed building cars and watching drag racing. He was also an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles. During summers, Thom loved entertaining his family at the annual family reunion where he would show case his exceptional cooking abilities and workmanship as a grill master.

Thom was a jokester at heart and a wonderful storyteller. His first priority in life was to take care of others and make them happy. He was a loving and caring husband, father, son, grandfather, brother, uncle, son-in-law and a dear friend who will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his father, Thom was preceded in death by his beloved father-in-law, Charles N. Brown. Thom is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Cindy L. (Brown) Lewis; three sons: Logan T. Lewis of Centreville, Md., Philip C. Mock and his wife Danka and Jason N. Mock both of Milton; one granddaughter, Daphnis A. Mock; a sister, Ann H. Lewis of Salisbury; two nephews: Thomas Ryan Yowell and Jonathan Andrew Yowell; a mother-in-law, Constance L. Brown; his Beach Marine family; his two beloved feline friends, Spot and Pinky; and his many friends, including his Arena's breakfast group.

A Celebration of Thom's Life will be held Friday, Aug. 15, at 11 a.m., at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends may visit beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be private.
