Biblion to host three local authors for book signings Aug. 15 & 16

August 13, 2014

Three award-winning local authors are visiting biblion: used books & rare finds at Second and Market streets in Lewes for book signings this weekend.

“We love highlighting local authors,” said Jen Mason, biblion’s proprietor. “And these three writers represent the rich variety of talent and interests in the area.”

Mike Morgan, who is well known for his work as a journalist and five other history books, will be signing copies of "Hidden History of Lewes" from 4 to 6 p.m., Friday, Aug. 15. “We’ve had trouble keeping Mike’s book on the shelf this summer,” said Mason. “People really respond to Mike’s engaging writing style, especially when he’s sharing fun local stories that not everyone has heard before.”

Crystal Heidel, author of "Still Life in Blood," is visiting from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Aug. 16, to sign copies of her novel. “Guests at biblion often snatch up a copy of Crystal’s book after reading our note about her state and national awards for her novel,” Mason said. “What’s really gratifying, though, is when they come back to tell us how much they loved it.”

Nancy Powichroski Sherman is coming a little later in the day, signing copies of her just-published short story collection, "Sandy Shorts," from 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday. “Before we carry a local author, our shop has a team of readers who check to make sure that a book is a good fit for our tiny bookstore,” said Mason. “The reader who previewed 'Sandy Shorts' said it was a perfect, light beach read - even suitable for teen readers.”

Biblion is open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at 205 Second St. in Lewes. Copies of these and several other local author offerings are available year-round. For more information, call 302-644-2210 or go to BiblionBooks.com.
