A Lewes man faces charges after police say he stole some prescriptions from a Maryland home for which he was installing new windows.

Michael D. Fitzgerald, 32, was installing new windows at a home in Pittsville, Md., when the homeowner left the premises, said Sheriff Michael A. Lewis of the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office.

When she returned, Lewis said, Fitzgerald was gone and so were her prescription Endocet and oxycodone.

Fitzgerald also did not finish the window job, Lewis said.

Delaware State Police helped arrest Fitzgerald in Lewes; he was wanted in Delaware on several warrants including acting as a contractor without a license, said Lewis.

Fitzgerald was charged in Wicomico County with theft under $100, possession of a controlled deadly substance and acting as a contractor without a license. He was released on $50,000 unsecured bond.
