The Rehoboth Concert Band will warm up for its third season with rehearsals resuming Wednesday, Sept. 3. The community band meets weekly at the Cape Henlopen Senior Center at 7 p.m.

Under the direction of retired music educator and Band Director Sharon Still, the band includes students, professional, semiprofessional and amateur musicians. This eclectic group has entertained audiences in the Lewes/Rehoboth area since its first concert in February 2012.

This year, the ensemble plans to broaden its horizons with performances in western and southern Sussex County, as well as continuing to provide concerts at its home base.

Musicians interested in playing with the Rehoboth Concert Band should email Sharon Still at All instruments are welcome; however, at this time there is a particular need for trombonists and percussionists.

The Rehoboth Concert Band is a member of the Association of Concert Bands. Its mission statement reads: A nonprofit musical organization, Rehoboth Concert Band provides area instrumentalists of all ages an opportunity to play and perform, while offering audiences a listening experience to enjoy and appreciate the diversity of concert band music.
