The Millsboro Art League will feature Georgetown photographer Anne Rhoads exhibiting in September at its gallery, 203 Main St. in Millsboro. Photographic Odyssey aptly describes the vividly creative images ranging from picturesque landscapes to humorous and sometimes out-of-the-box portraits Rhoads presents.
Rhoads' love of photography began in 1968 with a 35mm camera as she took pictures during her children’s growing years. Making the switch to digital photography in 1998, her interest grew from color, black and white to color-infrared images of nature. She has photographed wildfowl and wild animals, scenic landscapes and seascapes while traveling the East Coast from Florida to Prince Edward Island.
Rhoads holds memberships in the Milton Art Guild and Coastal Camera Club, and is currently a board member of Millsboro Art League. She has won many awards for her work, which can be viewed at www.annerhoads.com.
Photographic Odyssey will open Sunday, Aug. 31, and run through Saturday, Sept. 27. MAL will host a public reception from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 13, with light refreshments. The public can also visit the gallery to view the exhibit 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays, and 1 to 3 p.m., Sundays through September.
