Benefits candidate Paulette Rappa, veterans and animal rescue
August 27, 2014

Pet owners will have a chance to showcase their pets' talents or just let them strut their stuff at the Patriotic Paws Fair, 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 6, at the Pot-Nets Bayside ball field. Guest judges from area military veterans groups will award prizes for contests which include pet costumes and “happy dances” (tail wagging) in addition to the owner-pet look-alike and trick events.

The fair will feature demonstrations from rescue organizations as well as games and competitions for the canines. “This is a day intended for families and their four-legged friends,” said fair organizer Melinda Diaz. The event will benefit Paulette Rappa, a candidate in the 37th Representative District as well as veteran groups and animal rescue organizations.

“As the name implies, this is a day to honor our veterans and have fun with our pets,” said Rappa. “It’s the perfect post-Labor Day activity for families to enjoy the late-summer weather.”

Admission to the fair is $5 for pet and owner, and $3 for singles. For more information, call 302-597-0315 or email Melindad77@hotmail.com.
