Cape May, NJ- Sit back, relax, and have a brew by the Delaware Bay this September 6 when the Cape May-Lewes Ferry hosts the first ever bi-state Brews-By-The-Bay! This festival, taking place on the grounds at both the Cape May and Lewes Ferry Terminals, is jointly organized by the Garden State Brewers Guild and the Delaware Brewers Guild.  Listen to live music as you relax by the beautiful Delaware Bay and sip on beer from all of your favorite native New Jersey and Delaware breweries.

“The Cape May – Lewes Ferry is your ticket to two festivals in two states combined into one incredible craft brewing event,” said Rhona Bronson, Director of Ferry Marketing. “Brews by the Bay is quickly becoming a must do for locals and tourists alike. There is going to be live music, good food, and plenty of finely crafted beer from your favorite local breweries.  Don’t forget to bring a blanket and chair so you can relax by the bay and enjoy the festivities with your favorite craft brew.”

Bronson added, “Brews by the Bay is a one-of-a-kind event.  Advance ticket sales are strong, but to fully appreciate all the newest craft brews, participants need to attend each side as only NJ breweries are featured in Cape May and only Delaware breweries in Lewes. Can any other craft brew festival tout the cooperation of two State Brewers Guilds to offer a brew fest in two states?  Attendees will always remember this year’s Brews by the Bay!”

The Garden State Brewers Guild will be at the Cape May Terminal from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. New Jersey breweries expected to participate are Cape May, Tuckahoe, Flying Fish, Kane, Carton, Rinn Duin, Glasstown, Iron Hill, Cricket Hill, and River Horse. Gates open at 12 noon.

The Delaware Brewers Guild will be at the Lewes Terminal from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Participating First State breweries at this event will include 16 Mile, Dogfish Head, Fordham/Old Dominion, Iron Hill, Stewarts, Twin Lakes, 3rd Wave, Argilla, and Mispillion River Brewing.  Gates open at 4:00 p.m.

The festival has been designed so that there is ample time for visitors to attend both festivals and be able to return home in one day. The ferry between Cape May and Lewes takes approximately 90 minutes.
Admission to this event buys you a souvenir glass and pours of your favorite brews.  Food vendors will be on-site to provide the crowd with a wide variety of food for purchase.  Musical entertainers will also perform live.  Cape May – Lewes Ferry’s outdoor bar and grill, “On the Rocks (OTR)”, located at the water’s edge, will also be open for the event.
