Paul George Caras Jr., retired salesman

Paul George Caras Jr., 84, of Raleigh, N.C., formerly of Rehoboth Beach, passed away peacefully Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, at Transitions Life Care.

He was born Aug. 1, 1930, in Southgate, Calif., the son of the late Paul George Caras Sr. and Florence (Barbour) Caras.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard stationed at Indian River. Paul was a salesman for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and spending time with his children.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ann Reeves.

He is survived by his wife, Cherry W. Caras of Raleigh; six children, Paul G. Caras III and wife Patsy, Elaine Couchman, all of Milton, Steve Caras and wife Maria, Danny Caras, Richie Caras and Tracy Harp, all of Lewes; 10 grandchildren, Christy Pierson, Jennifer Caras, Paul Caras IV and wife Jennifer, Matthew Couchman and wife Brooke, Raymond Harp and wife Courtney, Jonathan Harp and wife Katie, Katie Couchman, Amber Worley and husband Dusty, Zachary Caras and Anna Caras; and 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Katherine Birsco; stepson, Reggie and his wife Angie; and one stepgranddaughter, Lacy.

A private Celebration of Life will be held for the family at a later date.
