Brad Connor clarifies election issues

September 4, 2014

There have recently been letters published in several papers misrepresenting my small business ventures.

I want to clarify that I am the owner of Connor's Package Store and the manager of Resort Real Estate Guide and Beach Guide Magazine. This is the total extent of my small business ownership and source of income. I do not own, nor do I receive income, from any payday loan company.

I have also been falsely referred to as a protégé and hand-picked candidate of Councilwoman Joan Deaver. While I had heard of Councilwoman Deaver, I had never met her prior to my filing for the 5th District Sussex County Council position March 5, 2014.

It is true that I have been an elected official in the Town of Dagsboro for 20 years. I am the current mayor of Dagsboro. In a position such as this, I have never run by party affiliation. The only allegiance I have is to the citizens of the town that I have selflessly represented.

Also, I have never received any pay for the positions I have held. I have a 20 year track record in Sussex County politics which stands on its own merit. I suggest that we need to focus on the issues that face District 5 and Sussex County.

Brad Connor
Sussex County Council District 5 candidate
