Possum Point Players expecting ‘Baby’ Sept. 19

August 30, 2014

Excitement and anticipation grow as the due date for “Baby” at Possum Point Players nears! The Maltby and Shire musical opens Friday, Sept. 19, and continues Sept. 20, 21, 26, 27 and 28. Along with “Baby,” Possums will deliver the popular annual dinner theatre. On Fridays and Saturdays, dinner is served at 6 p.m., show at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday matinees offer dinner at 12:30 p.m. and show at 2 p.m.

Dinner and show are $45; show only is $20. There are no discounts for “Baby.” Tickets may be purchased online at possumpointplayers.org, or by calling 302-856-4560.

“Baby” is directed by Kenney Workman, who last directed “Les Miserables” for the players. Melanie Bradley joins him again as music director.

The show is a lighthearted and sometimes sentimental comedy that follows three couples in three different stages of parenthood-to-be. One is wistful and hoping, another unexpectedly expecting, and another finding themselves in a baby way when they thought their nest was on its way to becoming empty.

Possum Point Players is supported, in part, by grants from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency dedicated to nurturing and supporting the arts in Delaware, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
