Mitch Crane to discuss candidates, issues at Sept. 4 Sussex County Democrats club meeting

Mitch Crane, chairman of the Sussex County Democrats, will speak on upcoming Sussex elections and field questions on candidates and issues at the Thursday, Sept. 4 meeting of the Eastern Sussex County Democratic Club. The meeting will be held at starting at 11:30 a.m. at Bethany Blues, 18385 Coastal Highway, Lewes.

Crane's session will give members and attendees a chance to determine key issues and evaluate each candidate's strengths.

Upcoming  events will include an Oct. 2 meeting with county council candidates and a specially scheduled meeting Friday, Nov. 14. All meetings are held at Bethany Blues beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Eastern Sussex Democrats have endorsed the following candidates: Claire Snyder-Hall, Senate District 6; Pete Schwartzkopf, House District 14; Marie Mayor, House District 20; Paulette Rappa, House District 37; Shirley Price, Council District 4; Greg Fuller, Register of Wills; Alma Roach, Recorder of Deeds; Brenda Mayrack, State Auditor, who has a primary election Sept. 9; and Sean Barney, Treasurer.

Peter Schott, ESDC president, urges Sussex Countians to come out for these meetings to make educated decisions about voting in this key election period.

"We believe we have an excellent slate of candidates," said Schott, "and these monthly meetings give residents and candidates an opportunity to interact with each other on matters of importance to the community."

Meetings are open to the public, and there is a $15 charge for lunch.
