(Cape May, NJ) Treat yourself to a sunset wine tasting cruise on the Cape May – Lewes Ferry!  Beginning on Friday, September 12, another series of the popular Wine Lovers Sunset Cruises on the Delaware Bay will be offered in September and early October.  The Lewes cruises will depart the terminal on four consecutive Fridays at 4:15 p.m. while the Cape May cruises are scheduled to leave the terminal on four successive Saturdays at 6:00 p.m.

According to Heath Gehrke, Director of Operations for the Cape May – Lewes Ferry, the Wine Lovers Sunset Cruise is that unique remedy for residents and visitors looking to take a break from the ordinary.  “As fall sets in, what could be better than to sip a fine wine, savor some delicious Hors d'oeuvres, listen to great music and enjoy a dramatic sunset?” Gehrke said.  “Think of the response when you say to your partner, ‘Honey, I’m taking you on a cruise!’ What a memorable way to experience the Ferry and the wonders of the Delaware Bay as a foot passenger.”

Sunset wine-lover's cruises feature Tapas, wine pairings, live music, and gorgeous sunsets in an intimate, limited-seating venue.  Sample menus from Cape May include treats such as Crab Ceviche, Duck Rillettes, Smoked Salmon Pinwheels, Braised Beef Short Rib, and Crème Brulee!  Sample menus from Lewes include Brie and Cranberry Stuffed Chicken wrapped in Prosciutto, Shrimp cocktail shooters and Goat Cheese and Ratatouille Chutney with Crostini.

The package includes return-trip foot passenger ferry cruise, wine samplings and pairings, and the opportunity to purchase featured wines from the two vendors after the cruise.  The first series of Wine Lovers’ Sunset Cruises were held in June 2006 and have continued to be extremely popular with both residents and vacationers.
