Mosaic workshop set May 17-18 at 205 Lavinia Street in Milton
205 Lavinia Street in Milton will host a mosaic workshop from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, March 17-18. Instructor Samie Dozer will help participants learn by doing. Students will cut mirror, break tiles, glue pieces and grout to help create a mural. The $200 fee includes materials. “After attending a workshop with Philadelphia’s mosaic artist, Isaiah Zagar, I caught the fever to create mosaics,” Dozer said. “What fires me up about working with mosaics? There is painting, a collage aspect, and grout certainly feels as good as mud. More exciting is the texture and reflections of the mirror. Sometimes the subject matter comes from asking I look at the table or cement board and ask, ‘What do you want to be?’ I get an image and proceed with amusement.” To register, call 684-3379. Visit 205Lavinia.com for information.
