Pat Coluzzi, a Rehoboth Beach resident, has announced her candidacy for Rehoboth Beach City Commissioner.
Coluzzi has owned a home in the resort town since 1994 and has been a full-time resident since 2002.
“Running for city commissioner just seems to be a natural extension of work I am already performing in the community. My interest lies with keeping the core business district of Rehoboth Beach vibrant, while preserving our neighborhoods and natural resources,” said Coluzzi, in a press release.
She is also a Rehoboth Beach business owner and provides consulting expertise in computer network installation, database and software application and website design.
Coluzzi has been a computer consultant since 1979, where she served in technical, managerial and executive positions for large corporations in the Washington, D.C., area.
Coluzzi serves as a board member for ANKH Inc., an organization that runs halfway houses for chemically dependent women in Sussex County, which has benefited over 530 women.
Coluzzi is also a Rehoboth Beach Main Street board member who recently spearheaded work to install banners on Rehoboth Avenue celebrating Rehoboth as a summer destination.
Coluzzi is also a member of Save Our City, a political action committee formed last summer, which seeks to preserve Rehoboth’s character.
Coluzzi, who lives on Sussex Street, said her interest to run for city commissioner stems from working with non-profit organizations dedicated to improving the quality of life in Rehoboth Beach and Sussex County.
