American cedar & Millwork heeds
Marine Corps' call to serve

American Cedar & Millwork Inc., headquartered in Lewes, is a part of the new National Museum of the Marine Corps, located outside of Quantico, Va. Museum curators were recently searching for materials to create wooden signs like those in the TV show “M.A.S.H.,” to guide museum visitors to the various galleries.

The Madison, Va. branch of American Cedar answered the call by donating several sizes of knotty western red cedar materials to the museum to create the signs.

“It was the very least that we as a company could do to give back to the U.S. Marines who so selflessly sacrifice for our safety and security,” said company President Mike Neal. “We are just very proud and humbled to be a small part of this amazing museum and the service that it honors.”

Photos of the project can be found on American Cedar & Millwork’s website at www.millwork1.com under the “Completed Projects” section.

The National Museum of the Marine Corps opened Nov. 10, 2006, outside of Marine Corps Base Quantico in Triangle, Va. It is considered to be on the forefront of museum innovation and contains more than 118,00 square feet of exhibition space that will be expanding over the next two years.
