LDAF's annual ball on March 15
to feature an Auction of Hope

This year’s Auction for Hope is sure to please at the seventh annual Autism Ball. This year’s ball will be held at 6 p.m., Saturday, March 15, at the Baycenter in Dewey Beach. The black tie optional event kicks off with an extensive silent auction followed by dinner, dancing and a live auction.

The Lower Delaware Autism Foundation (LDAF) has seen new support in its silent auction this year from not only the local community but from as far away as the West Coast as well. An exciting new live item includes four nights at the Newport Beach Marriott Hotel and Spa in beautiful Newport Beach, Calif., that will be paired with round-trip airfare courtesy of Southwest Airlines and the Newport Beach Marriott Hotel and Spa.

New to this year’s exciting silent auction is a signed Brett Favre football jersey; Favre recently announced his retirement from football. LDAF also has footballs signed by both Peyton Manning and his brother Eli, MVP of this year’s Super Bowl.

Also available are numerous restaurant gift certificates, a fun “Play Tourist in Rehoboth Beach” package. Showcasing a new item is Jonathan Spivak, owner of Sedona Restaurant in Bethany Beach, who will personally prepare dinner in the winning bidder’s home. An S5 Miele Pisces Vacuum has been donated by Ray Daminger of Delmarva Air Inc. in Lewes. “LDAF provides so many positive programs and services which benefit many families in our community and I wanted to be a part of their campaign to raise awareness of autism,” Daminger said.

Autism has no cure, but appropriate interventions and opportunities help individuals to develop functional skills. The Lower Delaware Autism Foundation envisions that individuals with autism in Sussex County will have a lifetime of meaningful and enriching opportunities in their communities. It provides a variety of programs and services to individuals and families affected by this pervasive developmental disorder.
