Memorial Day weekend marks the start of DART First State resort transit service serving Rehoboth, Dewey, Bethany Beach, Fenwick Island, Lewes, Georgetown, Long Neck and Ocean City, Md. Buses operate seven days a week through Sunday, Sept. 14.
Hours of operation are reduced until peak season begins Tuesday, July 1, and hours vary depending on the route.
A daily pass is $2.10, or riders can purchase a DART Card in denominations from $9.60 to $65 with discounts from 20 percent to 40 percent.
Cards are available at the Cape Henlopen Senior Center, 11 Christian St., Rehoboth, and the Rehoboth park and ride on Shuttle Road off Route 1 in Rehoboth.
The $7 fee at Rehoboth park and ride includes daily bus passes for all people in the vehicle. Cyclists can ride buses free between May 24 and Sept. 16 on routes 203, 204, 205 and 206. Buses can carry two bikes at a one time.
The Route 305 beach connection linking Wilmington and Dover to Rehoboth will operate Friday evenings, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from Friday, May 23, through Monday, Sept. 1.
Downstate bus stops include Wal-Mart in Milford and the Rehoboth park and ride. DART is coordinating with the Cape May-Lewes Ferry shuttle service to provide a connection at the Rehoboth park and ride allowing ferry passengers access to the resort bus system and Ocean City, Md.
