The Villages of Five Points 2008 summer movie and concert series, Summer on the Green, will screen movies every Thursday evening in July and August on a big screen with popcorn included. Just announced, this lineup of family-friendly events includes classic films and the best in live local music acts. All movies and concerts are free and open to the public and take place on the Green at the Villages’ Town Center.
The movie series includes animated classics like “Finding Nemo” and “The Lion King” as well as action-adventure greats like “Star Wars” and “Raiders of the Lost Ark.”
Saturday afternoons in August will rock, swing and jive with local musical groups including Swing City, lower case blues, the Eddie Sherman Show and the Funsters.
“We are really excited about the summer 2008 outdoor entertainment events that we have planned,” said Jamin Hudson, managing partner of The Villages of Five Points. “The concert and movie series is going to be bigger and better than ever, and we hope everyone will come out to join in the fun.”
The Villages of Five Points is a growing mixed-use community with condominiums, townhouses and single-family homes. The Town Center features a variety of shops and restaurants and recently celebrated grand openings of The Greene Turtle, Fisher Bay Gourmet Foods, M. Gallucio’s Italian Eatery and The Med Spa at Bad Hair Day. Ongoing favorites include Fish On, Java Beach, Edible Arrangements, Seaside Interiors and Quiet Storm.
The movie series kicks off with “Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones” on Thursday, July 3, at sunset.
Don’t forget to bring a blanket or chair; there is plenty of on-site parking. For a complete schedule of movies and concerts, and to find out more about the Villages of Five Points, visit www.thevillagesoffivepoints.com.
