The Rehoboth Beach Public Library will host a number of upcoming events, beginning with Monkeys in the House, at 2 p.m., Thursday, July 10. John Hadfield’s program is a combination of funny, original songs, circus-style juggling and amazing magic that will entertain kids and parents alike. Hadfield sings, dances spins plates, turns his head around backward and sings a duet with his imaginary friend, Tippytoes. The program is part of the Summer Library Reading Program.
Delaware Comedy Theatre will be presenting its Family Comedy Jam at 6 p.m., also July 10, at the library. Families are encouraged to come see how much fun improv can be. Children and teens are encouraged to participate. The event is free but donations are welcome, too.
The library will be continuing its Summer Reading Program by hosting Gary Lloyd at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 15. Lloyd will tell stories and present fantastic facts about spiders. The program is full of facts and tales from around the world. This program is great for all ages and is open to the public.
Michael Forestieri will be at the Rehoboth library at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 16, to present his Young Writers Workshop. Children in grades 3 to 11 are invited to come to this free program that will help them turn storytelling into creative writing. All budding writers and storytellers will find Forestieri funny, helpful and full of amazing ideas. To register, call 227-8044.
The Rehoboth Beach Public Library and the Rehoboth Beach Film Society will present an animated movie at 6 p.m., Thursday, July 17, about a bug that tries to break away from society and still win the affection of the princess. The movie is free and open to the public. All ages are welcome. Snacks will be provided and a book given away at the end.
The library, as part of the Summer Reading Program, will present Make a Date with a Dinosaur at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 29. Children will be able to complete a Protoceratops dinosaur skeleton by putting the last few pieces in place, see how their eyes, arms and teeth match up with those of dinosaurs and learn a little about meat and plant eaters with small models. A photo op will also be available with a baby T-Rex. The event is free and open to all ages. For information about these and other programs, call 302-227-8044.
