One of the East Coast’s most collected artists, Ellen Rice, will open her Ocean View Gallery from 5 to 7 p.m., Saturday, July 26, to host a benefit for AIDS Delaware which is part of Palettes & Palates Summer Gallery Series sponsored by Cape Gazette and showcasing local art, restaurants/caterers and wine stores at the Delaware beach.
AIDS Delaware’s mission is to halt the spread of HIV/AIDS by providing comprehensive social and support services; advocacy for compassionate public policy; as well as prevention and education programs within Delaware. The event, the third for the summer art series, will feature exceptional cuisine from DiFebo’s Restaurant and a selection of fine wines presented by Beach Liquors.
More than 30,000 people worldwide have chosen to make the beauty of Rice’s paintings part of their lives. Her paintings are found in private homes and government and corporate collections throughout the United States and abroad. “I think people connect with Ellen through her paintings,” one private collector says.
As part of the evening’s event, Rice will discount everything in the gallery by 10 percent for the two-hour duration, except her original paintings. The gallery features an extensive collection of original paintings by Ellen Rice, framed limited-edition reproductions of Ellen’s paintings and the work of more than 100 American artisans representing a vast collection of glass, wood, ceramics, leather, gold, silver, bronze and steel art pieces.
In addition, Beach Liquors is offering 10 percent off any orders for the featured wines placed at the event or 10 percent off any purchases of the featured wines at Beach Liquors during 30 days after the event, by showing an event ticket.
Tickets for the event are $40 and can be purchased by calling Cape Gazette at 302-645-7700, by clicking www.palettesandpalates.com or at the door. Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit AIDS Delaware.
