Villages at Five Points wraps up
season tonight with Funsters, movie

The Villages of Five Points Summer on the Green free movie series concludes Thursday, Aug. 28, with a screening of “Ratatouille.” The movie will be shown at sunset at the The Villages’ Town Center and is free and open to the public.

This event will wrap up Summer on the Green, which included weekly movies and concerts showcasing local talent. Last Saturday, concertgoers grooved to the sounds of The Funsters, the final musical act on the green. This was the second year for the event series at the The Villages and crowds flocked for free family outdoor fun.

“We’d love to see a huge crowd at our final event for this summer. The Summer on the Green events have been community favorites this year with well over 400 locals and vacationers attending last week’s concert with local band The Funsters. With school starting soon it’s a chance to treat the kids for a final summer night out. It has been such a pleasure planning such fun and community-centered events,” said Leanne Silicato Affeldt, event coordinator of Make My Day Event Planning & More LLC. “We want to sincerely thank the businesses in The Villages of Five Points for their support and especially thank our sponsors of this years’ events, County Bank and Zen Salon and Wellness.”

The Villages of Five Points’ Town Center features a variety of shops and restaurants and recently celebrated grand openings of The Greene Turtle, Fisher Bay Gourmet Foods, M. Gallucios Italian Eatery and The Med Spa at Bad Hair Day. Ongoing favorites include Fish On, Java Beach, Edible Arrangements, Seaside Interiors and Quiet Storm. The Villages of Five Points looks forward to seeing area visitors and residents for Thursday’s screening of “Ratatouille.”

Attendees are invited to bring their own blanket or chair, and there is plenty of onsite parking.
