BIE coordinates teacher visit to Beebe Medical Center
Beebe Medical Center recently hosted two Delaware teachers who were taking part in the Teacher Externship Program, an educational program coordinated by the Delaware Business, Industry and Education Alliance.

Emilia Bohorquez, a Spanish and French teacher from St. Thomas More Preparatory School in Magnolia, and Christine Low, a special education teacher from the MOT Charter School in Middletown, observed the hospital environment and experienced the hospital culture. The information, knowledge and ideas learned from their experience will be brought back to the classroom setting.

The externship was developed in 2002 to offer teachers the opportunity for professional development and to help teachers share information with their students about the workplace. It is offered through a partnership between Delaware Business, Industry and Education Alliance and the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce.
