The Girl Scout Leadership Experience is for all girls in kindergarten to 12th grades. In Girl Scouts a girl can discover a strong sense of self, connect with others, and take action to make the world a better place. Girl Scouts provides a safe, educational, fun and noncompetitive atmosphere.

The Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay Council invites all girls in kindergarten to 12th grades and adults interested in learning more about Girl Scouts to attend an informational meeting from 6 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 9, Monday, Sept. 14, or Tuesday, Sept. 15, at Millsboro Elementary School; or from 7 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 22 at Harbeson Church Hall.

The council will also hold two special events for prospective Girl Scouts - a skate party from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 19, at Skate World in Laurel, with a cost of $7.50 for skating, pizza and soft drink; and a swim party from noon to 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Lake Forest Aquatics Center in Felton at a cost of $5 for admission, snack and patch.

Annual membership fee is $12 per person. Financial assistance is available. A leading advocate for and expert on girls, the Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay Council builds girls of courage, confidence and character by providing personal leadership development and programs that teach skills for the real world. The council serves approximately 18,500 girls in grades K-12 across the Delmarva Peninsula. Approximately 6,000 adult volunteers support the Council in various mentoring and leadership positions.
