Students can gain the computer skills necessary to further their career with upcoming courses offered at Delaware Technical & Community College, Owens Campus. All courses consist of three sessions, unless otherwise noted.
Gain a solid foundation in computer skills by learning Windows XP and Microsoft Office 2007 applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access and Outlook in Microsoft Office 2007 Applications Certificate, Level 1. This 10-session course begins Thursday, Oct. 8.
Participants of Intro to Microsoft Publisher 2007 will learn to develop printed materials as well as web-based products beginning Monday, Oct. 12. Discover the basic functions of the software; develop text and graphic objects; and hyperlink to other pages, files and the internet.
In Intro to Microsoft Office 2007, Level 2, beginning Tuesday, Oct. 13, explore Microsoft Word and Excel by learning file management and how to create letters and basic spreadsheets.
Learn how to position and insert graphics, create a text box, use WordArt and charts in Intermediate Microsoft Excel 2007 beginning Thursday, Oct. 15. Use styles and templates to develop multi-page documents; create, edit and manage mail-merge documents.
Discover how to improve photographs by removing flaws, correcting poor exposure or adding new elements using the latest techniques Photoshop has to offer in Intro to Photoshop CS3. This two-session course will meet Saturdays, Oct. 17 and 24.
In Intermediate Microsoft Excel 2007, beginning Tuesday, Oct. 20, participants will learn to manage workbook data by viewing, arranging, protecting and preparing a workbook for distribution. Plan and create tables using functions and formulas; format charts by adding data sources and photos.
First Steps to Understanding Computers will provide beginners with the basic foundation necessary to use computers. Participants in this one-session course on Wednesday, Oct. 21, will learn how to use Windows and the mouse, understand basic computer terminology and how computers can simplify their life.
Discover how to acquire an email account, send attachments and create an address book in First Steps to Email; this one-session course meets Wednesday, Oct. 28.
