Milton Lions to host smorgasbord Oct. 24
The Milton Lions Club’s 44th Annual Smorgasbord buffet will be held from 3 to 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 24, at the H.O. Brittingham Elementary School on Mulberry Street in Milton. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children under 12 years old. All take-outs are $15.

The smorgasbord features crab imperial, ham and turkey salad along with numerous vegetables, cakes and other delicious offerings. Profit from the event goes to the funding of efforts to support those in the community needing the club’s service.

Tickets can be purchased at Antiques in Milton, Josephine’s Daughter Boutique, from any Milton Lions Club member or at the door. For more information, contact Jim Coverdale at 302-684-8737.

The club is busy with numerous activities this autumn. Among the several projects sponsored by the club are eye exams and eyeglasses for those in need, free vision screening of young children, loans of durable medical equipment from the Med Shack and a scholarship program.

During the summer Milton Lions run the Clipper Express in the park in conjunction with the concerts in the park. The club also answers many calls to service when a member of the community is in need of assistance with projects such as handicap ramps and property maintenance. The Milton Lions also provide financial support to local schools, the local fire company and several other local organizations.
