Rehoboth Art League lecture series
to explore glass blowing Oct. 25
The Rehoboth Art League’s Creative Spirit lecture series continues from 2 to 3:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 25, with a presentation by local glass artist Deb Appleby.

Appleby, owner and operator of Studio on 24 near Lewes, will talk about her award-winning glass blowing technique and love of glass artistry.

“In my work I have tried to use glass’s natural properties in a way that lends itself to the realization of my designs,” she says.

“I choose imagery and form inspired by the movement of water and the structure of flora in an effort to accentuate nature’s harmony with the physical tendencies of glass.

“I look at water and the ocean for color and optical effect and I look at flora for the form and shape.”

The popular Creative Spirit lecture series is a presentation of the Rehoboth Art League. The programs, open and free to the public, are held the fourth Sunday of each month from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in the Chambers building on the Rehoboth Art League campus.

The Rehoboth Art League was founded in 1938 to encourage interest and participation in a wide variety of cultural and artistic activities. The Rehoboth Art League is located on a three-and-a-half acre historic campus on Dodds Lane in Henlopen Acres just blocks from downtown Rehoboth.
