| The Eighth Annual Wine & Music Festival will take place from 6 to 10 p.m., Friday, Nov. 13, and 3 to 10 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 14, in the Rollins Center ballroom at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino.
This year’s 1950s theme will highlight the tastes and tunes of the era including performances by the Fabulous Greaseband on Saturday night and musical tributes to Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley on Friday night.
More than 50 wines from around the world will be featured for tasting, judging and purchasing. Numerous food stations will be set up around the ballroom for samplings. Guests may sign up for live cooking demonstrations, wine seminars and lessons on wine making, held in nearby breakout rooms during the festival.
Guests are encouraged to dress in theme with poodle skirts and bouffants for the chicks, leather jackets and ducktails for the guys. Tickets are now on sale at mid-century prices for the Fabulous ‘50s event. General admission tickets are only $20 for Friday and $25 for Saturday and include food sampling, wine tasting, informative seminars, live entertainment and vendors. There will be a $100 cash prize for the best ‘50s costume.
VIP tickets are offered both days and include reserved seating for a culinary tour consisting of Kobe beef burgers, hot French fries and icy-cold milkshakes. VIP tickets are $35 on Friday for a seating at 6 or 8 p.m. and $40 on Saturday for a seating at 3, 5 or 7 p.m.
