The Cape varsity field hockey team drubbed the Panthers of Polytech last Wednesday 8-0 to complete the regular season 14-0-1 and win the Henlopen Conference for the second year in a row.
Lady Vikings coach Nicole Catanzaro was voted conference coach of the year earlier in the week.
The scoring line for the lopsided win over Polytech was first half - Devin Price (Abbey Hilligoss), Caroline Judge, Caroline Judge (penalty stroke), Hilligoss (Hannah Pepper), Jacki Coveleski (Hilligoss). Second half – Katie Yeager (2), Hannah Pepper (Rebecca Pepper), Hannah Pepper (penalty stroke), 2:02.
Before the game the Vikings honored seniors Devin Price, Kaci Coveleski, Rebecca Pepper, Hilligoss and Veronica D’Amico.
The junior varsity defeated Polytech 3-0 to complete the season 12-0-1.
