The Children’s Beach House, an organization assisting children with special needs throughout the state of Delaware, recently launched the 2009 Gallery of Hope at Big Fish on the Riverfront in Wilmington.
This traveling art show, featuring work created by the children of the Children’s Beach House (CBH), promotes both the organization’s mission and the upcoming Annual Holiday Art Show and Silent Auction. Every Monday from Oct. 26 to Nov. 16, Big Fish on the Riverfront will host Children’s Beach House Day and donate a percentage of all lunch and dinner sales back to Children’s Beach House.
“The Gallery of Hope really showcases our organization and this event to the community,” said Kathleen Schell, art show chairwoman. “We are so extremely fortunate this year to be able to partner with Big Fish of Wilmington to display the children’s works.” Art is just one of the many programs offered at CBH, and the art programs allow the children to express their personalities through their visions and creativity. Displayed alongside the works of the children is the featured painting, “Beach House,” created exclusively by this year’s featured artist, Steve Rogers. “Beach House” will be auctioned off at the art show in December and 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the Children’s Beach House.
The Annual Holiday Art Show and Sale is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 4, through Sunday, Dec. 6, at the Children’s Beach House in Lewes. Tickets are currently available for the opening reception from 6 to 9 p.m., Dec. 4, for $60 or $125 for a patron ticket. The show continues from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, and noon to 3 p.m., Sunday, free to the public.
