New courses from Clear Space
to combine yoga, performing arts
Clear Space Productions and Comfort Zone Center for Whole Self Healing have partnered to bring a program for area children ages 5-12 that combines yoga and basic tenets of the performing arts to foster creativity, self-expression and self-esteem.

Incorporating fun with learning, professional yogis, actors and educators lead each workshop in body use, presentation and how to work with others. Children will enjoy the benefits of yoga, including developing strong, flexible and healthy bodies; and increased concentration, focus and attention.

Leadership is taught by working together with shared responsibilities, productive social interaction and respect for others. The performance art builds self-confidence through challenging but attainable age-appropriate performing arts activities.

Feb. 19 - Yoga and Acting Games with Dana Peragallo, acting instructor, will help students make their creativity come to life while they investigate fun and challenging acting exercises.

March 20 - Yoga and Dance with Sydney Dodd, dance instructor, will help students discover rhythm, time, space and design while moving about and having fun.

Apr. 17 - Yoga and Singing with Jerry Birl, voice instructor, explores finding the authentic voice while learning vocal warm-ups and fun songs.

May 15 - Yoga and Acting with Masks with David Button, acting instructor, will teach students to use clear body language to open the mind to new ways of communicating.

All sessions are from 1 to 4 p.m. on the dates indicated. Fee is $45 per child per workshop, and additional children from the same household are $40.
