The Sussex Tech Adult Division and the Cape Henlopen School District have entered into a partnership to provide opportunities for local citizens to earn their high school diploma by taking classes in Lewes.
A new satellite location for the James H. Groves Adult High School has been opened to meet the needs of the community at The Lewes School at 820 Savannah Road in Lewes. Classes are scheduled to meet on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
James H. Groves Adult High School is a secondary school enabling adults to work at their own pace and earn a high school diploma. It is approved by the Delaware State Board of Education and accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.
The James H. Groves Adult High School has been in existence since 1963 and is located in all three counties in Delaware. In Sussex County, in addition to the new location in Lewes, classes are also held at Sussex Tech High School, the Department of Labor in Georgetown, the Philadelphia Pentecostal Holiness Church in Ellendale, the Hickory Tree Housing Development in Selbyville and at Phillis Wheatley Middle School in Bridgeville.
James H. Groves classes are available in the mornings, afternoons and evenings, depending on the location.
The first step to earning a high school diploma is to call the Sussex Tech Adult Division office at 302-856-9035 to register for an information night.
