The state Board of Medical Practice unanimously accepted a consent agreement to permanently revoke the medical license of former Lewes pediatrician Dr. Earl Bradley.
By entering into the consent agreement, Bradley waived his right to a public hearing.
Per the agreement, Bradley, who has been charged with multiple counts of rape and exploitation of young children, has agreed to transfer his patient records to any physician licensed in Delaware and/or any medical institution designated by the Division of Professional Regulation and the Executive Director of the Board of Medical Practice.
Bradley also agreed give up his ability to prescribe medication. Amy medications, drugs or drug materials such as hypodermic needles in Bradley's office may be seized by the Executive Secretary of the Board of Pharmacy.
The board did not have to accept consent agreement. Department of State spokesman Christopher Portante said because Bradley agreed to the permanent revocation of his license - the most serious punishment the board can give out - the agreement was accepted.
Attorney General Joseph "Beau" Biden III said, "Today's decision makes permanent the board's decision last December to temporarily suspend Dr. Bradley's medical license. Like our removal this week of signage, toys and other items from the outside of Dr. Bradley's medical office, this is another step in continuing the healing process for victims, their families, and the community."
