Prudential Gallo holds annual meeting
Prudential Gallo, Realtors held its annual breakfast sales meeting Jan. 19, at the University of Delaware Virden Center. The company meets annually every January with sales, rental and administrative staff to discuss the sales and rental markets, company goals for 2010 and to recognize 2009 performance leaders.

Andrew Ratner, vice president and broker, led the meeting, with support from Sandy Wright, Lewes office sales manager and broker. Ratner reiterated the company’s mission statement as a guide for the company’s direction in the coming year: to exceed the consumers’ expectations for reliable service and professional assistance. More than 50 agents and staff attended the meeting.

Ratner exhibited 2009 statistics, compiled from the Sussex County Multiple Listing Service, which showed positive growth and increasing market share for Prudential Gallo, Realtors. In the firm’s main market, which encompasses Lewes, Rehoboth Beach, Dewey Beach, Broadkill Beach, Milton, Milford, Georgetown and Millsboro, Prudential Gallo ranked second among real estate companies in 2009 in total units sold in those areas, up from third during the previous year. Prudential Gallo also ranked first among the top-selling real estate companies in the county in units sold per agent.

Ratner attributes this high productivity per agent to a steadfast work ethic in a tough market. “When agents work within their sphere of influence, when they know their market, when they work hard to match buyers and sellers, they will succeed,” he said.

Ratner also welcomed the 12 new sales and rental agents who joined the firm in 2009, and he predicted a banner year in 2010.

Ratner recognized several sales and rental agents who received company awards for sales and rentals and national Prudential Affiliate awards for sales production. In addition, several agents and staff were honored for their longevity with the company, receiving awards for five-, 10-, 15- and 20-year tenures.

Chris Carulli, president of Cape Mortgage and Dynamic Mortgage, spoke about the availability of loans for first and second homes, noting the application process continues to change as national banking regulations are refined in the effort to oversee mortgages. He said he could arrange mortgages not only from national banks, such as Wells Fargo and Bank of America, but also from local banks such as Community Bank and County Bank.
