Salon Milton will mark its fourth year of operation from noon to 5 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 7, with an afternoon of haircuts, massages, manicures and a bake sale to benefit the Milton Historical Society.
The salon will also serve as a drop-off point for canned food to assist Casa San Francisco throughout the winter.
Salon owner John Potocki brought his skills and experience in hair cutting and coloring to Milton from the Mak/Aveda Hair Salon in Alexandria, Va. He also taught classes for Aveda in five states, including Delaware, for more than 16 years. “The world of 2010 is an uncertain one. Miltonians should work together. To rebuild strength, we must focus, plan, and spend our dollars wisely and locally. Let’s not forget that made-in-America pride and the power of community,” said Potocki.
For the past three years, Potoki has celebrated Salon Milton’s success by giving back to his community with an afternoon of haircuts, beauty services and refreshments to benefit the museum and its activities.
Last year the event raised more than $1,600 for the museum and brought in 25 bags of groceries for Casa San Francisco.
Special guest Roi Barnard will be on hand for haircuts, Mia will provide manicures, and a makeup artist from Aveda will offer makeup tips and chair massages.
All services will be performed for a $25 suggested donation. There will also be a raffle to win a spring cleanup to benefit the Milton Garden Club.
Throughout the winter, Salon Milton will also serve as a drop-off point for canned food or cleaning items to benefit local charity Casa San Francisco.
Casa San Francisco’s emergency food bank is now feeding more than 600 people monthly.
