Epworth UM Church announces Lenten services
Sup and Share services will be held each Wednesday evening through Lent at Epworth United Methodist Church in Rehoboth Beach. A light meal of soup and bread will be served in fellowship hall at 5:30 p.m. A donation will be accepted for the meal.

The vespers service, which is American Sign Language interpreted, will be from 6:10 to 7 p.m., in the sanctuary. Child care is available.

Sunday worship during Lent begins at 9:30 a.m., for the contemporary praise service that offers sign language interpretation. The traditional service with the chancel choir begins at 11 a.m. Sunday school for all ages is from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. First Sunday service will be at 6:30 p.m., March 7.

The theme for Lent 2010 is The Shadows of Life – the Rest of the Story.

“Knowing of God’s love and grace affords the opportunity to go to the deep places in our lives where change is needed,” said the Rev. Jonathan Baker, senior pastor. “These are the places we call the shadows of life – places where the light of Christ reveals himself to us. It is the rest of the story - one of healing and forgiveness that awaits us, and courage and strength from God to make the needed changes that gives us hope and leads us into a full and abundant life. Each Sunday and Wednesday evening, we will focus on those shadows in the hope that we will experience the joy and peace of Christ.”

The community is invited to be part of the Epworth family during this Lenten season. Epworth Church is on Holland Glade Road, north of Rehoboth Beach.
