Performance Poker Room opens in Frankford
Charities include Milton Theatre
The Performance Poker Room, owned and operated by husband-and-wife team Lou and Beth Thibault, opened Feb. 18, at 34407 Dupont Blvd., Suite 7, Bank Plaza, in Frankford.

The business offers poker games that benefit a wide range of charities. The Milton Theatre night is the fourth Thursday of every month: March 26 and April 22. The comfortable room has a friendly atmosphere. Other than the oval professional poker tables, most of the furniture was created and built by Lou from beautiful red oak, and the pieces are accented by poker icons. Lou welcomes the guests and handles the office; Beth deals cards at one of the tables and personally prepares the free refreshments.

Players enjoy the challenge, the thrill of the bet and the coolness of the bluff. Novices have their own table dedicated to learning the rules, playing slowly and betting low. They have their own dealer who is ready with tips and advice about how the game is played.

By Delaware state law, each poker room must give a percentage of the house winnings to charity every night it is open. “The little charities are always at the end of the food chain when it comes to receiving revenue,” said Lou. “We love playing poker, and this enterprise gives us an opportunity to help the smaller groups who need money right now.”

Play hours are from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Visit miltontheatre.org or call 302-684-3400 for updates about poker night as well as performances, movies and workshops scheduled at the theatre.
