| Anyone who has tried to lose weight knows it is hard to do, and it is even more difficult to maintain the lower weight once it has been reached.
It is also well documented that being overweight or obese is associated with a host of serious chronic diseases such a heart problems, diabetes, breathing problems and sleep disorders.
With these facts in mind, Beebe Medical Center is introducing a medically sophisticated, weight-loss program that includes minimally invasive surgery combined with diet and behavior modification, personal training and nutritional instruction.
The goal is to help people learn how to improve their health so they can enjoy life and avoid suffering the painful and often depressing effects of chronic disease.
Beebe will host a free seminar at 6:20 p.m., Wednesday, June 30, in the the McCurry Conference Center of Beebe’s Route 24 campus, to introduce its new weight-loss program. Dr. Michael Sofronski and Dr. Daniel McCullough, two surgeons who are experienced in bariatric surgery and who are strong advocates of exercise and healthy lifestyles, will facilitate the seminar.
They will discuss treatment options, the benefits and risks of bariatric surgery, and answer questions.
Registration is required by calling 302-645-3221.
