Nanticoke Health Services is pleased to announce that Cynthia “Cindy” Blessing, RN, FNE, has been named Nurse of the Month for February 2019.

Cindy began her career at Nanticoke Health Services in February 1994 as a Registered Nurse on the medical-surgical/pediatric floor. After a brief leave, she returned to Nanticoke in 1998 to work on the obstetrics and pediatric floor. In 2012, Cindy became a certified Forensic Nurse Examiner/SANE nurse. For the last 5 years, Cindy has worked with Nanticoke’s Case Management team, handling patient cases for both ICU and the Emergency Department.

Cindy is an asset to any department she works with. She is a hard worker and goes above and beyond for her patients from the moment she walks in the door. She serves as an advocate for her patients, negotiating the best treatment plan for the patient and family. She makes herself available to help with whatever is needed and is always willing to listen.

Cindy lives on her family farm, Twin Creek, in Houston with her husband, Bentley, and her twin daughters and twin stepsons. Outside of work, Cindy can be found helping on the farm with planting, harvesting, and tending to their horses and cattle. She is active with the Kent County Farm Bureau, FFA, 4H, Burrsville Ruritan, Farm-to-Fork Festival, and Delaware State Fair where she has shown lots of prize-winning livestock. In her spare time, Cindy enjoys walking biking, gardening, cooking, and attending church at Calvary Wesleyan Church in Harrington.

Nanticoke appreciates all of Cindy’s hard work and dedication. Please join us in congratulating her as Nurse of the Month for February 2019!
