Events in Bethel, Lewes, Rehoboth Beach Take Center Stage This Weekend

November 7, 2018

As we transition away from the busy fall festival season and look toward all of the fun and excitement of the 2018 holidays, we have a few events to tell you about here in our latest "Weekender Blog," brought to you every week by the real estate professionals at the Oldfather Group of Ocean Atlantic Sotheby's International Realty.

But before we tell you about what's coming up this weekend, we do want to remind you of an event that we featured in last week's blog entry, and that's the biennial Return Day celebration, happening on Thursday, Nov. 8, in the Sussex County Seat of Georgetown.

This event is two centuries old and is about as Sussex County as you're ever going to get, with it being the only such festival held today in the United States of America.

We previewed this important event in our blog last week, but you can read about the history of Return Day here.

If you have a chance to attend Return Day, you should definitely stop by Georgetown on Thursday and take in all of the great festivities. We think you'll enjoy it!

Now, moving on to what's on tap for the weekend of Nov. 9-11 at the Delaware and Maryland beaches. Here are the Oldfather Group's top choices for the next few days:

Delaware Resorts Home Expo (Nov. 10-11). Stop by the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center this Saturday and Sunday for the inaugural Delaware Resorts Fall Home Expo.

Scheduled for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, this event features dozens of the region's top builders, Realtors, community developers, financial firms and even service companies.

Scheduled for 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, activities for the day will include child friendly activities, crafts, age appropriate games, toy raffles and much more.
