Factory Sports Student Athlete Scholarship
This spring, Factory Sports will be awarding a $1,000 Scholarship to a local student athlete. Brad Leinbach, Program Director at Factory Sports believes; “This is a big step for us. The community has been so supportive of our business and they have trusted us to help teach their children various sports, this is the least we could do to give back to them”. The inaugural scholarship will be awarded to a graduating high school student athlete, with a few qualifications.
- The applicant must be graduating from a Sussex County, DE high school
- The student must participate in inter-scholastic sports at their high school
- Minimum 3.25 GPA
- The student athlete should have already been accepted, or is awaiting acceptance, to a 4-year accredited university or college
Applicants should also plan on majoring in Sport Management, Sport Administration, Sports Business, Sport Analytics, or a curriculum based around the business of sports and recreation. “This is an important piece of Factory Sports creating a scholarship fund. Our goal is to support the students who want to have a career in sports and recreation”; added Leinbach. Factory Sports also partners with Cape Henlopen High School’s Career Pathway Program to help students who plan on studying sports and recreation in college gain valuable experience within the industry. “The past few months have seen us become more involved with helping high school student athletes. From our Career Pathways’s Program to now the scholarship, we feel that this is an area where we can grow”; stated Leinbach.
The application deadline is Friday, March 13 with the winner(s) being notified on Monday, April 13. Please see the attached form for further details and application instructions.
