Free Movie Tonight in Lewes Canalfront Park-Beach Blanket Bingo!

Friends of the Lewes Canalfront Park with the support of Citizen's Bank are proud to continue the 2019 schedule of events with a great summer classic, Beach Blanket Bingo. The last movie of this season will be shown tonight Thursday, August 8 at dusk in beautiful Lewes Canalfront Park, located at 211 Front Street in Historic Lewes. The movie is free and the community is invited to attend.

What was old is cool again, Beach Blanket Bingo, released in 1965, is the fifth and best-known in the highly successful beach party film series. The film stars Frankie Avalon, Annette Funicello, Linda Evans, Paul Lynde and Don Rickles. Frankie and the gang are hitting the beach for some good old-fashioned shenanigans. To get the party underway, the manager of pop singer Sugar Kane decides a skydiving publicity stunt will really do the trick. As Frankie and the others are pulled into the plan, things get out of control. .

Bring your blanket or lawn chair and maybe a picnic supper for free, family entertainment on the banks of the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal.

Thursday evenings in August are scheduled with movies, concerts and even a play in Lewes Canalfront Park. The next event on August 15 has the return of one of Cape Region's favorite bands, Christine Havrilla and Gypsy Fuzz, at 7 pm.
