Fun Events in Milton, Rehoboth Beach and Lewes Highlight This Weekend’s Coastal Events Calendar

November 6, 2019

With all of the big festivals wrapped up for another fall season, we’ll be focusing now on smaller events and happenings around the coastal region, as well as some Christmas themed events we’ll be telling you about in the coming weeks.

This week’s blog, for example, is all about small localized events that we think you’ll enjoying hearing about. We begin in Milton and also head to Rehoboth Beach, Lewes and even up Route 1 a few miles to the city of Milford.

So keep reading and plan for yet another great weekend at the fabulous Delaware and Maryland beaches!

We begin in Milton this week and a classic “off-centered” event planned by the good folks at the Dogfish Head Brewery…

Dogfish Head Analog-A-Go-Go (November 8-10). This is the ninth year for this festive event held at the Dogfish Head Craft Brewery complex in Milton.

The main ticketed event is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, and will include indie craft beer, live music, feature tastings, tours of both the Steampunk Treehouse and brewery and much more.

There will also be an on-site bazaar with nearly two dozen merchants selling items that include vintage goods, apparel, barware, vinyl records and more.

In addition to the main festival on Saturday, activities are also scheduled for Friday and Sunday, where attendees can enjoy an artisanal marketplace, craft cocktails and more in both Milton and at the Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats location on Rehoboth Avenue in Rehoboth Beach.

Conclusion of Rehoboth Beach Independent Film Festival (November 8-10). There’s still time to catch some of the action at the 22nd annual Rehoboth Beach Independent Film Festival, which concludes its 2019 run this Sunday, November 10.

Every year showcasing around 100 of the best independent feature films, documentaries and shorts, the film festival takes place at the Cinema Art Theater, Cape Henlopen High School and at the Unitarian Universalist Church on Route 9.

Big Chill’s Pumpkin’ Chuckin’ 2019 (November 10). This marks the third straight year for this event that serves as an attempt to keep the spirit of Punkin Chunkin alive in southern Delaware.

Scheduled for 1 to 5 p.m. this Sunday, November 10, Pumpkin’ Chuckin’ involves individuals throwing pumpkins as afar as they can and will be held at the Big Chill Surf Cantina in Rehoboth Beach.

It’s a free event to attend, with beer, cocktails and food from Taco Reho available for purchase. There will also be a beer tent on site, offered by Crooked Hammock Brewery.

Prizes will be awarded in several divisions and $20 from each registration, plus a portion of the sales, will be donated to Autism Delaware.
