Integrative Health Schedules Fall Programs

Beebe Healthcare’s Integrative Health Department is proud to offer classes and programs for the community. This fall’s programs are as follows:

Second Tuesday of Every Month: Pain Linx, an Education and Support Group, focuses on awareness, education, sharing, and support for people with chronic pain. Starting Tuesday, September 13, the group will meet on the second Tuesday of each month at the new Lewes Public Library, 111 Adams Ave., Lewes, from 2 to 3 p.m. New Facilitator Rita Williams, MA, CHES, Health Coach with Beebe Healthcare, will be leading the sessions. Wednesday, October 5: Detoxing the Natural Way with Dr. Uday Jani, internal medicine physician and Fellow in Integrative Medicine. While exposure to toxins in the air we breathe and water we drink may be unavoidable, you can protect yourself with smart choices. Join Dr. Jani for an informative talk about how the right foods and nutrients can eliminate toxins from your body and restore overall wellness. Wednesday, October 12: FED UP, a film and discussion on the 10-day Sugar Detox. Join Rita Williams, MA, Health Coach with Beebe Healthcare, to view the FED UP film and talk about how sugar impacts our health. Wednesday, October 19: Self-Reiki Meditation with Cheyenne Luzader, MS, Reiki Master in partnership with the Cancer Support Community. This program will be held 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the Cancer Support Community. To register, call (302) 645-9150.

Saturday, October 22: Integrative Medicine Conference for Prescribers of Opoids at the Lewes Public Library. Presenters will outline the problem and offer evidence-based, non-pharmacological methods for easing pain and stress. Karyl Rattay, MD, Delaware Director of Public Health, and Dr. Uday Jani, internal medicine physician and Fellow in Integrative Medicine, will be the keynote speakers. Wednesday, November 2: Beyond Calories and Exercise – New Insights on Taming Obesity with Dr. Uday Jani. Join the discussion on obesity and hear a new perspective on the myriad factors affecting your weight and how you can find balance. Wednesday, December 7:  Life in the Middle Ages: Understanding Male Menopause with Dr. Uday Jani. More than a mid-life crisis, aging males deal with a host of issues ranging from a depressed libido and erectile dysfunction to increased risk of prostate problems. Wednesday, December 14: Making Vegetarian Sushi with Chef Fred Lee. This program will feature Beebe’s Chef Fred Lee who will show you some easy, inexpensive ways to prepare sushi at home.
