Nanticoke Cancer Care Services will hold their 4th annual Shine a Light event on Monday, November 5 to promote lung cancer awareness and screening education for the community. This event is free and open to the public.

Shine a Light, sponsored by the Lung Cancer Alliance, promotes awareness for lung cancer and provides hope, inspiration and support for all of those touched by lung cancer. Founded by a lung cancer survivor and caregiver, it is the largest coordinated awareness event for lung cancer in the United States. Through Shine a Light, people are able to experience a growing community of supportive and caring individuals.

This year’s event will be held at 6:00 pm inside the Nanticoke Health Pavilion Seaford at Mears Campus. Radiology staff will be on-hand 5:30 – 6:00 pm to answer questions and show community members the low-dose CT scan machine which screens for lung cancer. The event will feature guest speakers, screening education, and light refreshments. The lighting of the flashlights to honor survivors and loved ones is always a highlight of the evening.
