Something new is coming to the Jazz Festival!  The Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival, in conjunction with Dance Moves & Manners and Tango Lewes present "Dancing for the Cure • A Ballroom Community Dance".  Friday, October 12, 2018 from 7 – 10 pm at St. Jude’s Catholic Church on Rt. 1 in Lewes, Delaware.

THIS IS A DANCING EVENT SO BRING YOUR DANCING SHOES!

This year The Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival has added a new dimension to the festival by hosting a community event that highlights local talent. If you love dancing come and experience this wonderful community dance benefiting The Tunnell Cancer Center.

Dance demonstrations will be performed throughout the evening by members of the University of Delaware Ballroom Dance Team, Tango Lewes, Dance Moves & Manners, and local dance stars. A variety of dance music from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s will also be highlighted for the enjoyment of everyone in attendance. In addition attendees will be dancing with the “Stars” on the dance floor. St. Jude’s Church holds 225 people comfortably with a very large dance floor. This is a great event for both dancers and non-dancers.

Included in the ticket price will be delicious food provided by Frank & Louie’s Italian Specialties on Baltimore Avenue in Rehoboth Beach.  There will also be a cash bar. Dressy attire (no jeans).  Tickets available now! GO TO www.rehobothjazz.com to purchase your ticket.

Attendees will be greeted at the door by dance instructors from University of Delaware Ballroom Dance Team, Tango Lewes, Dance Moves & Manners, and additional local dance stars. Interspersed throughout the evening with music provided by DJ Keith will be the occasional instruction by our dance instructors.

Working with the Jazz Festival, Dance Moves and Manners and Tango Lewes were enlisted to help with the project. Both organizations have helped to bring the idea of a Ballroom Community Dance to reality.  Enlisting the help of talented local dance instructors and getting the Ballroom, Latin, and Argentine Tango communities together we have been able to produce an event that everyone will enjoy.

DJ Keith will also provide the music playing Salsa – Swing – Foxtrot – Rumba – Argentine Tango – Bachata and more.

Proceeds from "Dancing for the Cure • Ballroom Community Dance" will benefit The Tunnell Cancer Center, as well as the St. Jude’s Food Pantry that provides food for hundreds of needy families in the community. The committee will also donate funds to Tango Lewes, an all-volunteer, non-profit community of Argentine Tango Dancers.  Tango Lewes is committed to providing affordable access to instructions and this funding will go towards bringing nationally known instructors to the area to increase knowledge and skill in this artistic dance.
